Rev. Dr. Oliver R. Williams
Rev. Dr. Oliver R. Williams acknowledged his calling of God to the Ministry on December 25, 1977. His first sermon was delivered on January 15, 1978, at the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. He was licensed to preach on
January 22, 1978. He was ordained on September 9, 1979.
Rev. Dr. Williams is a graduate of Old Lockland Wayne High School. He received his Certificate of Study and his BA Degree in Theology from the Temple Community Bible College. He also holds a degree in Management, Public Speaking and Communications. In December, 2000 he received a Doctorate of Humanities from Hopkinsville College of the Bible, Hopkinsville, Kentucky. In June, 2005, he received a Doctorate of Sacred Theology from Temple Community Bible College.
In addition to his educational accomplishments, Rev. Dr. Williams serves as a member of the Board of Trustees and Treasurer of the COIC Foundation, member of the Lincoln Heights Valley and Vicinity Ministers Conference, Board of Directors of Good Rest Mission (Haiti), Board of Directors of Tiny B. Love Fund of Greater Cincinnati Foundation, Director of Lo-Char Scholarship Fund. In 2008, Rev. Dr. Williams ended his term as the 44th Moderator of the WESTERN UNION BAPTIST DISTRICT ASSOCIATION, which includes the areas of Cincinnati, Springfield and Mechanicsburg, OH. In the year of 2009, he competed his term as the 10th President of the Congress of Christian Education of the Ohio Baptist General Convention. Currently he is active with the Voices of the Valley and President of Friendship Plaza, Inc.
Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, Rev. Dr. Williams has guided the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church into doing the work of the Great Commission Matthew 28:19, 20. Pastor Williams devotes his ministry into the foreign mission field, primarily ministering in the country of Haiti. Through his diligent work and efforts in Haiti, he has planned and executed the following: The building of The Haiti Gospel Mission Orphanage that houses and feeds 66 orphan children, the building of The Haiti Gospel Mission School that educates the orphans, and the building of two Churches that most importantly promotes the preaching, sharing, and spreading of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Also under his leadership, Friendship Plaza, a 30 unit Senior Citizen Apartment complex has been completed and consistently occupied since 2007.
Rev. Dr. Oliver Williams is a devoted and loving husband to his �Honey� as he affectionately refers to his wife Barbara Jean. He is also a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend, and above all else the Shepherd of the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church for 26 years.
